We recently purchased and applied the Hardwood refinishing kit for my Ipe boat house deck. We were very pleased with the performance of the products as well as the technical support from Woodrich Brand. The deck had not been treated for years and was very weathered. The stripper(EFC38), neutralizer and exotic hardwood wiping stain restored it beautifully. Highly recommend these products.

We are building a new home and we chose to install a brazilian hardwood called Garapa. Not all stains are suitable for exotics and after much research i called woodrich to ask about their wiping stain. Some weeks later i called to order and spoke with a lovely woman who gave me unsolicited helpful tips since i was buying 5 gallons but only using about 1.5 this year. Really good people and the product is great despite a rush job by yours truly to beat the weather. I wish more companies were like woodrich.

After cleaning and prepping our IPE dock, we finally had some dry weather to begin staining. We chose Hardwood Wiping Stain in Amaretto after speaking with the professionals at Woodrich. We ordered according to square footage on dock plans. According to recommendations, 2 gallons should have covered, but they suggested we order 3 to be sure. 3 Gallons was not enough. We started staining our 50′ ramp and ran out of stain about a third of the way. We ordered a 4th gallon and are waiting for more dry weather in order to finish. The shipping is extremely fast! We thank you for that. Before and after photos will be uploaded upon completion. The dock is gorgeous and we are very pleased with the product. We recommend ordering 1-2 gallons more than you measure. We live on a TVA lake and are anxious to finish before lake levels are brought down.

We have used the hardwood wiping stain (after using the Woodrich EFC-38 cleaner and brightener) to refinish our ipe wood deck every few years and it restore the wood to a beautiful, lustrous “like new” finish every time. We will be back again the next time the deck needs work. I also want to commend Russell for his excellent customer service. He knows the product, can give practical advice on how to apply it and got our order out to us the very next day.

If you have an exotic hardwood deck this is the stain to use. I have an Ipe deck that’s now 20 years old and use this to re-stain every couple of years because it’s near trees and tends to get a lot of junk and some mildew on it. After a pressure washing I put this on with a lambs wool pad, let it soak in for about 5 minutes, and buff off the excess with another dry pad. I can’t emphasize enough that, just like the name says, this is a WIPING stain, it should not be painted on thick and left to dry. If you put it on heavy or try to apply in sunlight the stain will gum up and look blotchy. Applying this stain is much more like staining furniture than it is painting. On exotic hardwoods you will get incredibly good coverage because the stain doesn’t soak in that much, even on my 20-year-old Ipe. They say 300 square feet per gallon but I get more like 350. When you’re done the result will look like it belongs in your living room, the color of the wood is amazing.

Best stain I have ever used. I have a 20 year old Ipe deck and it looks brand new after using the wiping stain. I’ve used other stains that made the wood look blotchy and would get mold and mildew on it. Not this brand. I stripped it three years ago and started to use the wiping stain. I clean it each spring and then apply one coat of this and it looks great.
